Position Description

The Restaurant Manager is responsible of the daily management, administration and operations of the outlets to provide high quality service, maximizes profits and market share. The Restaurant Manager maintains the highest standard of quality as they relate to presentation, supervision and control of food and beverage service in the outlet. The Restaurant Manager maintains a strong and efficient team while creating loyal and trustworthy staff who take pride in their work, thereby providing the highest level of service possible. They will be a role model for the team members by providing sound advice, guidance and moral building. The Restaurant Manager creates, innovates and executes potential and beneficial solutions/ideas to enhance the working environment to produce higher results.

Accountabilities 

  • Assures the timely and complete set up in accordance with the pre-determined policies and procedures of all meal periods in the restaurant
  • Inspects outlet thoroughly to ensure cleanliness of linen, operating equipment, fixtures and furniture's and so forth are up to standard, table set-ups, sideboards and mise-en-place are done properly and in good condition
  • Ensures that the outlet runs smoothly in accordance to the set standards
  • Ensures that the outlet area is well maintained in every aspect
  • Has a full and in-depth knowledge of the outlet, retail and it's offering
  • Develops and implements training program together with the Operations Director and conducts training session for team members
  • Ensures that all standards are followed at all times including appearance of team members
  • Assists in handling of all customer complaints through thorough investigation to avoid reoccurrence
  • Constantly monitors that customers are being attended and served according to standard set and attend to customers as needed
  • Identifies ways to improve overall service delivery
  • Orders all outlet related items
  • Reviews average checks, number of customers and sales figure with team members in order to improve productivity and efficiency
  • Aware of clientele mix, seasonal periods and festivities and make recommendation to management for competitive analysis and budgeting purposes
  • Coordinates with Operations Director/ Executive Chef and beverage department for any special promotion and ensure team members are aware of it to ensure that up selling is exercised

Skills and/or Experience

  • ServSafe certification
  • 5 years experience from 4 or 5 star Hotel/Restaurant
  • Fluency in spoken and written English
  • Evidence of sales ability
  • Well-developed numerical skills
  • Confident working within budgetary and financial constraints
  • Thorough understanding of Health and Safety, Food Hygiene, Licensing and Employment Law
  • Ability to Multi-task
  • Ability to work flexibly under pressure
  • Operational knowledge of hospitality equipment
  • Proficient in EPOS use
  • Proficient in Microsoft WORD and Excel
  • First Aid trained
  • Health & Safety and Food Safety trained

 

Physical Demands

  • While performing the duties of this job, the incumbent is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle or feel.
  • Incumbent is occasionally required to taste or smell
  • Push, pull, and lift up to 50lbs on a weekly basis.
  • Be able to reach, bend, stoop and work in a standing position for a long period of time

 

Work Environment

  • Must be comfortable working in a shared space, with constant noise, without the use of a private office
  • Must be able to cope with frequent changing priorities and deadlines with a high degree of optimism, professionalism & collaboration
  • Schedules may vary from week to week based on business demands in excess of 40 hours with or without notice including weekends, nights, holidays
